InkAlign

Privacy Policy

Effective date:

1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy describes how InkAlign ("InkAlign," "we," "us,") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website and browser-based tools at inkalign.com and related properties (collectively, the "Services").

2. PDF and manuscript processing — local in your browser

InkAlign's core PDF processing for layout, margins, bleed, gutter, and related optimization runs locally in your web browser on your device. Your manuscript PDF is not uploaded to InkAlign's servers solely for that processing workflow. This design is central to how InkAlign protects your privacy: your file stays on your machine while our client-side software operates on it.

You should still ensure you use a secure device and browser, and avoid processing confidential materials on shared or untrusted computers.

3. What we do not do with your manuscript

We do not use your manuscript content to train public machine-learning models. We do not sell your manuscript. We do not store your PDF on InkAlign servers for the purpose of running the main in-browser optimization pipeline described on our product pages.

4. Information you provide directly

If you contact us (for example via support@inkalign.com), we receive the information you choose to send, such as your email address, name, and message content. We use that information to respond to you and improve support.

5. Payments

Paid purchases are processed by our payment partner (Dodo Payments or successor). InkAlign does not receive or store your full payment card number on our own servers. Payment providers process transactions according to their privacy policies and share with us limited information needed to confirm purchase status (for example, transaction identifiers and plan type).

6. Technical and usage data

Like most websites, we may collect standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, device type, and pages viewed, through our hosting and analytics tools, to operate and secure the Services and understand aggregate usage. This data is generally not used to identify the content of your PDFs.

7. Cookies and local storage

We may use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for the site to function (for example, session or preference storage). You can control cookies through your browser settings.

8. Data retention

We retain support correspondence and transaction records as needed to operate the business, comply with law, and resolve disputes. Retention periods vary by category of data.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information we hold. No method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure; you use the Services at your own risk.

10. Children's privacy

The Services are not directed to children under thirteen (13), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under thirteen.

11. International users

If you access InkAlign from outside the United States, you understand that information may be processed in the United States or other jurisdictions where we or our vendors operate.

12. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal information, or to object to certain processing. To exercise applicable rights, contact us at support@inkalign.com.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the effective date. Material changes may be communicated through the Services or by email where appropriate.
